Because we care about the growth and success of your business, we are continually looking for ways to improve the traffic of your independent brick & mortar Eye Care Business.

Today, we wanted to notify you of the changes occurring with Google, the internet’s leading search engine,  and how it can affect you, an independent business owner.

In April, Google announced that they were changing the way they recommended websites in searches made by users on mobile devices.

Consumers are increasingly turning to mobile devices to search for information, products, and services. According to Website Magazine, 80% of adult cell phone users use Smartphones, and this number is only going to increase.

Google has changed their platform specifically for this trend. Searches that are done on a mobile device will now favor “mobile-friendly” websites.

What does this mean for the independent Eye Care Business owner?

If your business website is not “Responsive,” meaning that it does not automatically conform to the dimensions of a mobile device, it will decrease its likelihood of showing up on top of Google’s search results.

Having a High Page-Ranking on Google can effectively attract more consumers to your practice. If your website has font or graphics that are too big, where the user has to scroll left and right to read the page, it is going to affect your Page-Rank on Google. Click here to check if your site passes Google’s “Mobile-Friendly Test.”
